It’s crazy to think about how much video games have evolved in the last 30+ years. I remember playing Link to the Past and thinking how crazy big the game world was. Now we have a Zelda game like Breath of the Wild, which makes Link to the Past’s game world seem like a tiny spec on a map. While I do love the games of today, it is always nice to reflect back to that retro era to get that shot of nostalgia. I wonder what it would have looked like if Breath of the Wild was released during that era?

Thanks to YouTuber Nintendo Wire, we now have an idea of what Breath of the Wild would look like on the Game Boy Color. This is such a cool video! We get the introduction scene in the Shrine of Resurrection with that awesome shrine theme, but it’s a retro remix. We then get a glimpse of the map, which represents Hyrule as well as the Game Boy Color could in my opinion. Lastly, we see a little of the Great Plateau before entering a shrine. What did you think? Would you love to play a retro remake of Breath of the Wild? Let us know your thoughts down in the comments!
