The soundtrack for “The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild” can at times introduce alarming melodies intended to put the player on edge. The chants of an enemy camp hiding nearby, the chaotic instrumentation of a guardian targeting its prey, or the unsettling crescendo with the rising of the Blood Moon could easily fill the bravest adventurers with dread. However, there were moments hidden within these menacing symphonies that a familiar tune would sneak it’s way through the cracks.

Kass’ and his accordion became a popular duo with fans, and his theme became a welcome beacon of hope while wandering through the remote areas of Hyrule. This tune is quickly becoming a go to song for fans to cover, and YouTuber David Erick Ramos – Ocarina found a way to add a new yet familiar twist to this musical composition. Dropping the accordion, Kass’ instrument of choice, David busts out the good ol’ ocarina to create a beautiful and nostalgic take on this popular tune. This will definitely be worth a listen for Zelda fans, and if you like this version, he has plenty of other Zelda covers to enjoy. It has definitely become one of my favorite variations for Kass’ theme, and a wonderful ode to my new favorite character in the Zelda franchise.
